The tourists have reported the results of their first match of the tour against a Muscat XI on the Al Amerat Cricket Ground (above).

Batting first in a 30 overs match the Muscat XI mustered 260-5 which was overtaklen by the Conference who scored CCC 261-4 off 29.5 overs. CCC won by 6 wickets.

The match was played on an astroturf pitch. The outfield was rolled compacted sand and tiny stones. The weather was very hot and sunny with occasional interruptions for mini dust storm which passed through from time to time.

CCC won the toss and chose to field. In 30 overs Muscat scored 260 for 5. CCC responded with 264 for 4 in 29.5 overs and won by 6 wickets.

The CCC bowlers initially found it hard to adjust to the conditions but Scott Kirwin stood out as the bowler whose pace and bounce unsettled all the batsmen. 260 was described by the Muscat supporters as slightly below par and Arfan Akram lead the reply with 69 off 45 balls but the stand out batsman was Chris William who steered CCC home with 77 from 49 balls with 9 x 4's & 2 x 6's. Sam Burge chipped in with 39 from 40 balls. Scott Kirwin was 41 not out at the end from 28 balls. Scott and Chris put on 99 from 52 balls to take CCC home.
