Lydia Greenway, one of England’s outstanding recent cricketers, will lead a team against the Conference this summer.

A Lydia Greenway Invitation Xl  will play at Hayes (Kent) CC on 3rd August against a CCC President’s side, the first for women in CCC history.

In a 13-year career for England Lydia helped win four Ashes series and two World Cups and was Wisden’s Women’s Cricketer of the Year for 2010. She started playing cricket at Hayes, where as a teenager she was a founder of Hayes Hurricanes CC.

This season’s President’s match continues the development of CCC women’s cricket, launched seven years ago and steadily strengthening under  manager Pauline Osborn. It follows a first tour for women in 2015.

Lydia currently runs a coaching academy. Anyone wanting to see her prowess as a fielder should watch the youtube clip below.
