2013 promises to be a summer of cricket like no other. With the ICC Champions Trophy taking place in England and Wales in June followed by The Ashes, there will be plenty of live action for cricket fans to get excited about.
Steve Elworthy, ICC Champions Trophy 2013 Tournament Director, said: “This will be a terrific opportunity for fans to see the world’s very best One-Day sides in action over the space of less than three weeks and the fixture schedule has thrown up a host of exciting head-to-head contests.”
“The format means every match counts and all eight teams will feel that they are capable of winning the tournament in a competition which is set to be one of the highlights of the 2013 international calendar.”
The whole tournament sees fifteen matches played over just eighteen days at three venues – Cardiff Wales Stadium, The Oval in London and Edgbaston. A top one-day international match will be played every day during the group stage and cricket fans from all over the country will have the chance to watch every ball live and support their national team, with the likes of MS Dhoni, Shahid Afridi and Kumar Sangakkara all in action. India, Pakistan, South Africa and the West Indies have all been drawn in the same group, with England, Sri Lanka, Australia and New Zealand competing in the other.
The ICC Champions Trophy 2013 will offer an exciting opportunity to see these top international teams compete against one another at the highest level. And the tournament also offers great value for money, with U16 tickets at £5 for all matches and adult tickets ranging from £20 (in the family stand) to £60 for the final. This means a family of four can watch a match in the group stages for just £50. U21 tickets are also available, ranging from £10 in the group matches to £25 for the final.
