Horsham CC all-rounder Shoare continues Sussex climb

Ben Shoare can look forward to the 2013 season as a member of the Sussex Academy after catching the eye at Horsham CC in the Sussex Premier League.

Shoare, 17, a batsman and off-spinner from Reigate GS, was a logical choice, having represented the county at all age levels from under-13, but he rather guaranteed his place by making the most of limited opportunities in a wet season during Horsham's progress to runners-up spot behind Preston.

With Leo Cammish, he is one of only two newcomers for this year's Academy draft. Wicketkeeper Cammish, from Hurstpierpoint College, played in the league for Sussex Development XI. Harry Finch and Callum Jackson, from the 2012 Academy intake, were selected for the England Under-19 tour to South Africa, which starts this month.
